Yoga for Children and Teenagers - Sam Sivers-Stewart
Sam started having private sessions with her teacher Florence Kroll 4 years ago. During and after these sessions she experienced such an increased physical and mental wellbeing state that she became inspired to pass these teachings on. After coming back from a yoga retreat in India she decided to start her training as a Children’s Yoga Teacher and has been teaching children and teenagers for 1 year now. She also travelled back to India to soak up the beautiful Indian culture and qualified as an Adults Yoga Teacher with Sivananda school of Yoga and is currently continuing her studies of yoga and anatomy and deepening her own practise of Yoga on a daily basis.
Yoga for Children
With exciting yoga adventures, plus games, postures and warm ups as well as breathing and relaxation techniques, there will be loads to capture your child’s imagination whilst improving their fitness, maintaining their flexibility and using their magical creativity. In the classes the posture work helps strengthen the body and assists co-ordination and balance, whilst some of the relaxation and visualisation techniques can boost children’s confidence and help with a whole host of childhood conditions from poor concentration to learning difficulties. Healthy eating is also promoted during the classes.
The class structure will be :
3-6 year olds ½ hour
7-11 year olds ½ hour
12yrs and upwards 45mins – hour
Yoga for Teenagers
The classes for the older children will incorporate the above benefits however the postures will be more challenging in accordance to their age and physical capabilities. During exam times we can focus a bit more on relaxation and meditation and tailor the classes to their needs.
